I took this picture of a communion wafer resting inside a chalice while on retreat in a monastery in Belgium.
I love the way the inside of the chalice is reflecting the lights from inside the chapel.
Entered for this weeks Photo Friday challenge themed ‘artificial light’.

my favourite cufflinks … little … but they ‘connect’ me to Audrey!

changing seasons

this was taken on my pre-ordination retreat in September 2008 in a Kent village as I ‘retreat-fully wandered’.
We were definitely in a different season when we drove up to these to be served.
The garage had long gone … just these two pumps remained, maybe as a reminder of seasons past.

spot (less)

I took this shot while lying on the floor in a Benedictine monastery in Bruges …. as you do!
I particularly like the way the sun shining through the windows has been caught, ‘enhancing’ the polished floor.
Entered for Photo Friday, this week’s theme being ‘spot’.

burgundy on the rack … stands out from the rest

My favourite pair of cufflinks.

motionless

The silver lady taken at Beaulieu.
The silver lady has always intrigued me and here the illusion of speed really does hide the clear fact that she is ‘motionless’, and has been for a fair while now!

safe?

I took this shot at Bognor Regis during the late afternoon.
I am quite enjoying the way that the exposure takes this lifebuoy, a symbol of hope to the distressed, gives quite a sinister feel to the object.
It makes me think the lifebuoy has a mind of it’s own – Hitchcock style … saying ‘you might think I’ll save you … but mwahahaha!
